Countdown to Paris

Two days to go!

Bags packed - check.
camera packed - check.
enthusiasm - check. (well, almost. currently suffering immense anxiety at leaving my kids behind; especially this one)

My wish-list of things to see has grown. I don't expect that I will be able to do everything because most of my time on this trip is eaten up by the workshop I'm doing with Sophie Pasquet, but there's no harm in expanding the list all the same:

1. re-visit Musee d'Orsay to see their new Manet exhibit
4. Tour Montparnasse just before sunset
5. check out the exhibit 'Charmed life of the Brothers Caillebotte'
6. bread & cakes at La Fougasse
7. coffee at Merce and the Muse
8. Musee de l'Orangerie

write to you from paris!

My list would go like this:
1. Eat all the petit fours at Pierre Hermé
2. Try the new macarons flavors at Ladurée
3. Eat a succés at Gérard Mulot
4. Buy a few chocolate truffles at La maison du chocolat
5. Get some bread at Poilâne
6. Check out the marché at Rungis
7.

You get the picture!
Have a great time! J.

@Joumana: I totally get the picture. The petit fours/macarons/truffles/pastry go without saying & my greedy indulgences will be well documented ;-)
I didn't know the marche at rungis & am just about to check out your link. thanks for letting me know! I'm staying across from the marche des enfants rouges which should be similar?

Sounds like you have your whole itinerary planned out. I went to Paris in 1976 and it was one of the peak moments of my life. If you have a spare moment to do a non-foodie thing, go to Notre Dame and look at the stained glass windows from the inside. Imagine that entire edifice was built by hand, with the pulley as the most sophisticated tool they had. Oh, and eat some great food, too!

Hi Lynn! I don't actually have anything planned out. I just sound like I do, lol.
I went to Notre Dame on my last trip & so this time I am really looking forward to checking out Sainte-Chapelle which is supposed to have really spectacular stained glass windows. Can't wait to see it!

I am just so happy for you and your friend! You will love Monet's garden-- the entire village is enchanted. Eat well and get your groove back!

It turned out that I had no time for even one of the things on that list! However, I had a really wonderful trip and will be writing about it as soon as the chaos subsides around here!
